SEARHC was established in 1975 under the provisions of the Indian Self-Determination Act as a non-profit health consortium which serves the health interests of the residents of Southeast Alaska. The intent of this legislation was to have Indian Health Service programs and facilities turned over to tribal management. Our contracting with IHS began in 1976 when we took over management of the Community Health Aides Program. In 1982, we took over operation of the IHS Juneau clinic, now the Ethel Lund Medical Center, and took over operation of Sitka’s Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital in 1986. We are one of the oldest and largest Native-run health organizations in the nation. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the insurance Provider enrollment process for the SEARHC Consortium, along with overseeing the Provider enrollment credentialing functions, re-credentialing process, and supervises the Provider enrollment specialist(s). Payer enrollment includes both facility and professional Providers to participate in CMS Medicare, AK Medicaid, and commercial payer networks. Senior Provider Enrollment Specialist ensures Providers are enrolled in accordance with current standards and regulations and must maintain stringent compliance with payers.  The Senior Provider Enrollment Specialist maintains excellent relations and is the main liaison between payers, clinics, and Providers to assure participation status is managed in a timely and accurate manner.  The Senior Provider Enrollment Specialist also partners and works closely with the Medical Staff Office.


Education: 

  • Associate’s Degree minimum requirement
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred


Experience:

  • 2 years of Experience in any of the following areas preferred: Healthcare regulatory environment, managed care, healthcare billing, hospital settings or Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance preferred
