|Title:||Midlevel Practitioner (PA or NP)|
|Job Status:||Full Time|
The Hoonah Health Center, Hoonah, Alaska (population ~ 750) is seeking a highly qualified, compassionate, energetic nurse practitioner or physician assistant to be part of the primary care medical team of 2 mid-level providers and 2 community health practitioners. The clinic is part of the SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC), a Native-run healthcare organization serving communities throughout Southeast Alaska since 1975.
Located 40 miles west of Juneau along the Icy Strait on Chichagof Island, Hoonah began as a Tlingit village, given then name Xunaa because it was a safe haven, protected from the North Wind. Hoonah offers incredible wildlife, fishing, hunting, and has a vibrant cultural history.
The practice is the medical hub for the city and offers a challenging and diverse mix of routine and emergency care. Providers participate in shared after-hours call and must be comfortable treating and stabilizing patients in urgent/emergent situations.
SEARHC offers a competitive physician salary, annual CME days and stipend, annual vacation, paid holidays, health insurance, matching retirement, life insurance, liability insurance coverage under the FTCA, innovative family leave benefits, and additional training opportunities. SHARP, NHSC, and IHS loan repayment programs are possible. Please email David Grace at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
